Westerns

These early radio episodes are true American treasures and are must listening to for anyone who grew up in that era. For those a bit younger, it is a window into how your parents and grandparents entertained themselves. Remember, this was the time before most folks had a TV. If you have any interest in nostalgia and entertainment history, you can not afford to pass up these true American Treasures.

Gunsmoke - Gunsmoke was one of the long lived, classic Old Time Radio shows that most folks know or at least recognize. If you're old enough, you most likely remember it from radio. If you're a bit younger then us, then you probably know the show from its move to early TV where it ran for about 20 years. If you enjoyed Gunsmoke on TV, you will love the early radio episodes. It isn't often we get to see, or in this case hear, where some of our most beloved TV shows originated. Get over 400 episodes, 200 plus hours of listening enjoyment.

The Roy Rogers Show - I grew up watching the Roy Rogers show on TV. There once was a photo of me, about age 2, sitting in front of our first TV, and on the screen could be seen Roy and Trigger. Now that I'm a bit older, I've come to enjoy the classic Roy Rogers radio shows. I'm sure you'll enjoy them also. There are over 75 episodes and better then 38 hours of wonderful western action and entertainment contained on the CD.

Wild Bill Hickock - Guy Madison starred as Wild Bill Hickock. His sidekick "Jingles," was played by Andy Devine, who was fantastic in the role. What were Wild Bill and Andy looking for as they rode through the west? Why for adventure, of course, and they certainly found it. 228 Episodes are included in this 2 CD set. Over 100 hours of great western adventures with Wild Bill and Jingles!

A radio version of Hopalong Cassidy, with Andy Clyde as the sidekick, began broadcasting on The Mutual Broadcasting System, in January of 1950. At the end of September, the show moved to CBS Radio, where it ran until 1952. The popularity of the show grew every time it was heard. The radio show, along with his movies and television shows helped Hopalong Cassidy one of the most popular heroes of the West. Hopalong’s popularity continues to grow even today as new generations and of course, us older folks, delight in the classic tale of this great American hero. So sit back and enjoy one of the most popular characters of the Old West in over 100 episodes and 43 plus hours of great Hopalong Cassidy adventures!
